Aloha….In Motor Magazine, January 1969 and Car Magazine April 1969 there are photos of the first 206 GT. The first production model was owned by Sergio Pininfarina who designed the body. Sergio let Paul Frere (who wrote the article) take it for a drive. In both articles the Ferrari Sheild is visable on the front fenders. So….yes….there was at least 1 Dino with shields…the first one. Check out the photos…… …you may also notice the “F” badge and “Pininfarina” emblems just behind the door on the rear quarter panel……..maybe I’ll “shield” mine……

I do like the shield on the Dino fender, now I know why.

Just as likely that Pininfarina put the badges on himself, no?

Either way, just one more little nuance that makes the cars so interesting, and the history, even now, incomplete.
