I found a guy who has 4 individual garage spaces in Oakdale, NY. Flat aprons and driveway. NO alarms, but you can put one in, what should one pay for a space like this per month. If you rent addtl spaces, what are you paying?

    $70-$100 per spot.

I don't know what kind of car this is for, but you may want to consider Bridgehampton Motoring Club. I think Rob (Sagaponeck) on this board runs the place. It's very high end, but worth the $$ if you have a nice car. And the facility is A++

About 60 miles. If you are looking for a "cheap" garage, go to 62nd St and West End or 180 Riverside Drive (one of the trump buildings). I think it was $300/month including tax.

Thanks for the tip, Pchop. I've actually got a decent set-up ($280 including tax) in a well-located Manhattan garage. The place is dirty and hot, but it's secure and I get my own spot and I keep my keys... Was just curious about Oakdale because the price guestimate you mentioned was REALLY low (compared to Manhattan, of course).

    $280 is a steal!

Oakdale is the urbs...those prices are what I would guess they should be. A friend of mine rents his spot out in Suffolk country for $50 per month.

Details and location? I'd love to be able to keep the sportscar in the city again. Right now I pay $100/mnth to keep the car in a secure self-park place in Westchester.

We have secure spots in our dedicated sports car garage starting at $350/month including pick-up/delivery, bi-weekly mechanical check, cleaning and a dedicated spot. Best part, in my opinion, is that we are only taking a total of 30 cars and everything is done on a personal level. Check us out at www.sportsclassicsnyc.com and contact me for more information.

Yeah I am just waiting for the EPA. Govt agencies can be really slow. I got that huge plot of "contaminated" land where those huge oil drums are under route 80 in hackensack. The place is huge. I am turning it into exotic car storage on one side and self storage on the other...(completely seperate though, wouldnt want boxes of crap falling on ferraris;) )

Dude, be very very very very very careful with environmental issues. It could turn out to be a nightmare.

    Good luck!

thanks. I actually got an in with the EPA and they have some good connections to help clean it up. The good thing is that it is not going to be used for anything with "significant human contact". Basically its not like a kids playground or something. I just want to clean it up enough so that it is safe and does not damage anything built on it (basically cleaning and clearing out 4 feet deep worth of soil). I am still evaluating the property, but essentially have it on hold. Thanks for the heads up John.

haha, the land is not radioactive. Just some leftover petroleum. It really doesnt even need to be cleaned up, just the huge 30 foot tall oil tanks need to be removed, but I want to be safe and replace the soil and such.

I'm in the midst of a 4mm cleanup on a piece of property, you don't just take a few trailerloads of dirt and put them someplace. Any property with oil tanks is going phase 2, and is probably going to be a brown property. Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy an Ind-1 Zoned warehouse property? I know someone who could help you locate such a piece. I have one ( a 5600 sf warehouse) near the nassau suffolk border thats ready to rock, with an amazing cctv system running digital.

This place is awesome in terms of location for an exotic car garage. Right off route 80 and mins off routes 3, 17, 46, 4, parkway and turnpike. I am working with the EPA to make sure everything is taken care of according to code. The land is alot nicer than most people think it is. I looked at alot of properties, but this one had the location.

Between the approvals of writing and conducting a full site delineation , the reporting issues that come from the delineation, writing and approving a "Corrective Action Plan", then implementing said program, this whole process could take up to 5 five years. A proper delineation should provide an insight into the time issue. Government agencies are VERY SLOW in granting approvals for submitted project proposals. I have been doing environmental abatement work for over 30 years and its aggravating waiting for approvals.
