Absolutely. the 246GT is the only Ferrari that I know of that had specific tools made for it from China. They were trying to save $$. So, you can't pick and choose other Ferrari parts to make up a set, you need original tools. Only way to get them is to steal them, (a no-no) or buy them from a wrecked car, or some guy who's dumb enough to sell them. Saw a jack go for $1400. Books, over $3K if they have the original leather binder, and a set of almost complete tools go for over $2k, so $5000 for a truly original, complete set of these isn't that unreasonable if you are a concours competitor. (EDIT - Ad is for tools alone for 4500 GBP that's more like $8K US, which is maybe a little outrageous.) For an everyday driver, I would just toss a 10mm wrench in the truck, an alternator belt, pair of pliers and maybe a screwdriver. Then, add a cell phone, six pack of beer in a cooler, and the number of a good flatbed tow truck guy, cause if it breaks on the road, you ain't gonna fix it.
I have dino tool kits and jack kits both early L series (brown) and later (black) Tom Shaughnessy San Clemente CA
Dave is absolutely correct. I have two sets of tools, I'll post "Before" and "after" someday! "After" includes 18" channel locks, hammer, voltage tester, hundreds of fuses, duct tape, tie wire....the beer..... and that all important phone number of a Land Doll....lol! You could buy the MS Edition tool set from Griot's for less!!!
The wrenches in my sets are cast in India..... a well known source of quality materials.........and incense!

Placed inside the Dino's Trunk it looks original !!! Only dino collectors can tell the difference. Its Excellent, when I have the original next to the new made one I sometimes get them confused, you have to really look at it carefully to notice the difference. Yikes!
Maybe so, but he's having a laugh with 308/328 small toolkits at £400 that you can buy on e-bay every day of the week for less than half that. The one in the picture looks like the std replacement that's still available from F UK anyway at under £200 if memory serves. I
a real ad, but from 02. a good price back then. paul is a good guy, but even he couldn't do the same deal today
Be careful with this guy. He promised to buy my complete 250 toolkit ($2500 if memory serves me) and strung me along for weeks. Never did buy - probably shopped it around.
