No, what you saw in the picture is taped mesh to cover the lower front air intake to keep track rubber from bouncing in and hitting the radiator.
Ahmad, Is this the GT3 you're talking about?? Bill Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
that looks like a guy that went to a PCA RTR summit event...Ya, 119 even after the repave is really, REALLY cooking it...Ide love to see a DAS verified time on that puppy...I should be down to 120-121 when I go in NOV if the track isnt too cold
I know it might have been going too fast to focus, but did anybody get a picture of the silver 360 with the blue taped front end?
Newmembersteve, Is this the one you're talking about? If so, I'll check to see if I have more at home. Bill Image Unavailable, Please Login
There was a fair amount of splatter from dirt that got on the track after people went wheels off, but I didn't hear of anyone complaining of serious damage.
newmembersteve, i think i have a few good track pics of the 360 spider but they are on my laptop and i will post them later
I didn't have any front-end paint damage after one day of track fun. The track was wet on Saturday morning. This resulted in quite a bit looser tire grip, especially coming out of turn 1. Turn 9 had a pretty big patch of mud on the apex for most of the morning. This got my attention since it is one of the faster turns. There were a few deer crossing the track on Saturday. I heard some of the Red Group cars had to dodge some of them. The new pavement was smooth all the way around. However, it is a few inches higher than before so the curbs at the apexes are now half buried. Thanks again to Redding and everyone at FOW for this great event. I thought the extra focus on safety worked well for all the drivers.
Thanks Redding for putting on a fun and safe event. Had a great time giving point by's to a lot of you guy's. I was driving a Brown 82 SC if anyone has a pic of that. Good food, good people and great track time. See ya next time. Tim
I forgot to mention the food. On Saturday, they served Chicken Kabob with baked diced red potatoes which I thought was a great combination of tasty yet healthy food. And the caterers brought way more food than the relatively large group needed - plenty of left-overs after the lunch crowd thinned out (once again, another thing that shows that FOW wants everyone to have a good time and doesn't try to cut corners to save costs).
newmembersteve, here is the only picture I have, none of the pictures of the car on the track came out, this was the first time I have tried to take pictures of cars moving at excess of 100 mph which isn't easy Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks. I stopped going a few years ago because of all the rock damage my previous car was taking up there. I hope to go again soon. Was the BSR instructor's take of the course I posted last week on the mark or should it be amended?
Well, I don't know if it was rock damage, but I thought it was a little curious that this Lamborghini (that Bluedevil12 took a picture of on Saturday - 1st pic) ended up tapping the entire front hood on Sunday (2nd pic is mine). Bill Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
it was completely taped up later saturday, this picture was taken around 3:00ish, I heard the owner had bought the car that morning and decided to bring it to the track, nice way to really test your new toy
Hmmm... That is a lot of tape, isn't it?!? Plus I forgot to mention I have the clear bra stuff on my entire front end (and front-facing sides of my mirrors) of my black F430. So, the lack of damage could have been due to that.
Toggie, your car looked great, I have a few pictures of you on the track, if you want them please let me know.
Thanks for all the comments guys... maranelloboy-- were you the guy with maybe your brother walking around afternoon on Saturday? Here are a couple I snapped. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
the superleggara was also at the Classics on the James, BlueDevil12 that would be me (friend of mine not my brother) , let me guess you were wearing a grey Pan-American puma tee?
Haha-- my bad. Yep that was me. Introduce yourself next time if you see me, I will do the same! What are you shooting with?
