What short memories you have - remember CBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God for FOX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was scared we were in for Ralph "The Mouth" Shaheen and Rick "DaBore" Debrul, or even Derrick Daley. Yikes! The commericals and the public education were rough to endure, for sure. But for the non - F1 viewer, it was a good race. I'll save the race commentary for another post.
sorry -- NOT!! I learned more, and quicker, from the FChat thread than the PATHETIC "live timimg" f****p of F1 website....everytime if refreshed it went back to lap 5. never again!
Actually just leaving all the races on Speed would suit me just fine, thank you. I don't see the need for putting it out onto another bigger channel: F1 in the US is a niche sport and will always be a niche sport. I can live with that perfectly fine. That's btw true for many other sports and things in life: We in the US as well as in the world continue to become more compartmentalized in our interests. Nothing wrong with that, that's why there are more and more specialized magazines at the news stands and why we have hundreds of TV channels and thousands of internet forums and web sites. Speed is the channel for racing. That's where F1 should be on. Don't put it on a big network where it has to compete with other interests. Simple as that.
i was SO hoping that they would have different announcers...i am so sick of those guys....SOMEBODY SAVE F1 COVERAGE IN USA!
I would have forgiven FOX for everything if they just would have broadcast it in HighDef. I was very disappointed to see a pillar-boxed lowdef pic. when I tuned it. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I downloaded the ITV rip today. Lots of great pre-race stuff. Tons of coverage on Lewis of course. Unfortunately no post-race interviews as ITV had to cut to a freakin' soap opera...
I don't have to remember. If anyone managed to catch the CBS so called "coverage" of the ALMS series race in Utah it's still painfully obvious that they still can't manage race coverage worth a flyin' d**n! I love watching a race where the commentators obviously aren't familiar with their subject matter in any way, shape or form. My advice for ALMS and F1, make the TV deal next year with SPEED, period. My request to SPEED: make a deal next year to also show FIA GT races from Europe instead of 90 installments of "Billy Bob's Mud Truck Roundup". If I want stupid TV I can always watch the "Barrett Jackson Celebrity Brain Surgery" repeats.
