Ugh.... If it actually attracts more US fans then fine, but the coverage is horrible...

I think I'll be going the whole season without watching a race live. I'll just download the BBC broadcast and watch everything next day.

The Fox coverage -is- the Speed coverage, with all that implies negative and positive.

Hard to imagine anything duller than 2 hours of the Hungaroring on FOX.

Fox coverage is just a dumbed down version of the Speed coverage, same commentators except they have to give out basic rules and strategy.

without fox I don't get F1 in HD, so as bad as it may be I'm thankful Fox is broadcasting the race. I still download the UK version because they have great coverage.

I spent all last year wishing I had Speed in HD. Well last month I was flipping through all the channels on our U-Verse and realized there was a speedHD channel. I was pissed, but now I'm ready for it for this season. Too bad its not full 1080 but close enough.

Why on Earth do they have Hungary on Fox? They should at least have some of the most exciting races on Fox so that F1 looks good to those who don't regularly watch it on Speed.

Interesting question (although I don't like the implied message of Hungaroring being boring). One would expect the crown jewel of Monaco and the similar time zone Interlagos GP in the lineup.

I'm guessing it has all to do with programming times: These might be the weekend where no other big sporting event is on (e.g. Wimbledon, Tour de France, Baseball etc etc).

The real problem with FOX showing the races is that these morons tape delay them! So no FChat for me on that Sunday until they have aired the race. :(

They also don't air any pre-race stuff or post-race interviews or celebrations. As soon as the program comes on TV the red lights are out and the race starts, as soon as the race ends, its off to another show...

I download the races from www.racing-underground.com via bittorrent from UK broadcasts (although a day late, worth it generally)

Later start times. 3pm EST?? It might make for some good Sunday afternoon beer drinking and BBQ's.

I can take them dumbing down the broadcast for the "lay person," but I cannot take not having pre or post race coverage. It really hurts the broadcast; the viewers lose so much. An outsider would never even know the face of the guy who won, there's no time to set up story lines, there's no time to get to know anything.

those FOX races are the worst. as stated earlier, w/o the pre-race and post-race info, what's the point of watching a race 6 hours after it has already been completed.

It makes for a lousy BBQ: One of your party guests will blur out the result while you're all watching and spoil it for everybody. Just as one FChatter will spoil it for everybody here.

I've said it before and say it again: Why can't they show the live race on Speed and the tape delayed version on Fox? Serves both communities.

downloading is the only way to go, and if fox is doing the broadcasting it's a must because their commentary is god awful (though maybe not as bad as CBS). I just love having the ITV coverage (even though it's very hamilton biased) with all the commercials cut.

This year in the UK ITV will no longer be broadcasting the races, the BBC has gotten the rights back, FYI. However some, not all, of the broadcast team remains the same.
