Hey NE listers, I'll be up in Vermont on business the next day or so and heading to NYC on Tuesday. Thinking about visiting either Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods Monday night for a little gaming. I visit Vegas a couple of times a year and enjoy playing craps at Rio or Paris, or down in old town Vegas at the 20x odds tables at Main Street Station. Any recommendations for a visiting Mid-Atlantic lister? Thanks
Personally, I like the atmosphere better at Mohegan, but I always seem to lose there !!! I always win at Foxwoods. Foxwoods was first, and their stores and restaurants were very generic. Then came along Mohegan Sun, with higher end brand name shopping, upscale food, hotel, etc. so Foxwoods stepped it up and remodeled. Both are currently in the middle of hugh $700 million dollar expansions. www.foxwoods.com www.mohegansun.com Also, there are only 10 minutes apart form eachother, so if you have time, you can spend a few hours at each in the same day. If your heading to NYC after, hit Foxwoods first them Mohegan, then you can jump on 395 south to 95 south to NYC. Also, valet park, don't bother going round and round in the parking garages or the lots.. I usually just give them 2 or 3 bucks in and out.
Easier parking at Mohegan. Mohegan is smaller and easier to find your way around . Foxwoods is huge and the underground parking is a pain. Foxwoods does have plenty of outside parking also. Considering they are within 5 miles of each other you can stay at one and visit both !!
Thanks guys. Ended up at Mohegan Sun around midnight Monday night. Had a quick bite at Fedelia and then hit the craps table until about 3am.
