OK, let's be clear: I didn't get the Mondi t cab for use as a track car, and it's not a track car. But I am interested in just getting out there for a few events and having a good time inside the envelope.

I have heard stories here and there about how tracking -- even mild -- will flex up the cab's frame to the point where hoods and boots won't latch. I am assuming that an event or 2 a year where she isn't run terribly hard won't do that.

    Any comments?

Not likely. Lou Menditto spent over a decade running his Mondial t Cabriolet over a hundred track days successfully after my shop built him a removable roll bar assembly. The construction of the oval-tube chassis plus the unibody construction of the body panels on top is like a "belt plus suspenders" approach. The only way you're going to affect hood and trunk alignment is to crash it. Enjoy it, these cars are fun on track. They're nicer than a lot of the two seaters because of the longer wheelbase.

Encouraging news; thanks. I wonder how much stiffness was added by the removable roll bar, though.

Not a great deal. It was bolt in, four points, with a diagonal.
