In summer, we always decide to go to the sun, at least that was the case for me for years, and since climate change, Spain has been experiencing rising temperatures that make summer almost hellish. So we adapt and move up north for cooler weather. This time it was France, Germany, and Switzerland.

Entzheim, Alsace, France. Does that not mean anything to you?
you are in the place of "Pur sang" Bugatti .
3 reasons: A real baker who gets up at 5 a.m. to make you real croissants and the best bread in the world, the best hotel (Le Père Benoît) in the area with the best restaurant. And then, it's the Bugatti region. This is also where his son Jean Marie Bugatti died with the victorious Bugatti from Le Mans in 1936. He was 30 Years.

The Bugatti region is fantastic to visit in summer, every village is in bloom, beautiful colors light up the day and uplift your spirits, it’s incredible.

You will find Molsheim, the Saint Jean castle, the new factory in the municipality of Dorlisheim, the former home of Ettore Bugatti, the old Bugatti factory, the Bugatti museum which is expected to grow, the cemetery, etc...

Bugatti phase 1 was: 8000 automobiles, 1200 employees, and is a significant wealth for the region.

Circa 1920, Ettore Bugatti bought in Molsheim this house. He converted as a hotel to recieved his friends.
The name of this place was: Hostellerie du Pur sang.
René Dreyfus wants to give a part of his ashes in this place. In 1994 the Bugatti Alsace complete his wish.

Ettore Bugatti was also a train manufacturer.
During the Great Depression of 1930, his cars sold less and the roar of the Bugatti Royale didn't help.
Ettore put 600 people with employment (half factory)
He would meet Raoul Dautry, the director of the SNCF, who would initiate a government contract.
In 1934, Bugatti produced the first locomotive from his factory.
    The first test was Paris-Strasbourg.
90 units of the Autorail would come out of the factory in 4 forms.

I decided to visit Ettore Bugatti and his whole family at the local cemetery.
The death of his son just before World War II would lead to the end of the Bugatti company.

Jean Bugatti was 30 years old when he tested the 57C that won Le Mans in 1939.
During a test, people would take their positions at every intersection to alert the public
and warn that Bugatti was making tests drive on this road.
A cyclist who finished his day went by a dirt road, Jean Bugatti who was passing at 230km/h could not avoid it.
The accident was brutal the cyclist will come out with both arms broken.
Jean was found on the side of the vehicle, ejected from the vehicle, a huge opening on the side of his face.
People rushed in, the doctors warned, Jean died on the way to the hospital in Duppigheim.
