Family crest? I think I would disagree. Such things are usually not given away.

Right but with small corrections. “Cavallino Rampante” was granted to Enzo Ferrari as good luck charm, in occasion of “Cicuito di Savio” race in 1923 by countess Paolina De Biancoli, mother of Francesco Baracca, Italian air fight ace of the Great War. The original seal was red horse badge of “2° Reggimento cavalleria Piemonte Reale”, changed in black after Baracca's death at Montello in 1918. The horse shape was changed in part by Ferrari and he added the yellow background as Modena city color, and from 1932 this badge was official mark of “Scuderia Ferrari”
