Looks like I only have a few threads remaining attached on the throttle cable on my 328. I have asked my mechanic to look into getting another one for installation and am wondering about how much work it might be? I did a search on the archives for broken throttle cable and replace throttle cable with limited success. One post said that you can't rethread the new cable by pulling through with the old due to the swaged end. Are there any articles regarding this around? Hopefully I can get it replaced before it breaks completely. Not too cool driving around Tampa at a fast idle!!!

On my 308 QV I tied the line from my spinning reel to the old cable and then pulled the old cable out from the interior, then tied the line on the new cable and pulled it back out to the engine compartment. Worked with no problem, but it takes two people to keep the strain off the knotted end.
