Freaking Haters

I've found dried spit on mine. It doesn't bother me.'

What bugs me worse are door dings because it's just disrespectful or carelessness and cost a bit of money to fix. But, once the ding is gone, I'm all happy again.

 

I'm glad there was no real damage. Unfortunately, there's a lot of them out there.

In LA, I had one of my 308s keyed on the rear quarter panel (from top-to-bottom) and into the actual metal. It was at an upscale restaurant with purported supervision in the parking lot.

 

The good news is --- "it just a car". If they did that to a family member, that's a lot different.

Sad as it is, you can repair these things perfectly and move on with your life. It's not so easy with flesh.

We need to keep things in perspective.

I know they cost a lot of money, and it took a lot of hard work to get there; but it really is just a car. Imagine how the culprit feels? He or she has to live with self-hate day in and day out. I'd much rather have gum on my window than to hate myself so much that it would drive me to destroy things that other people have (that I can't or don't have).

 

It gives me a bit of a giggle. There are any number of reasons for vandalism of various sorts, but it is done by people with such a small understanding of the world that either one day they will feel bad about what they did or they will never improve their lot in life, and that is just sad. I have a family member (through marriage) who felt that anyone in a ferrari was a total ******e but now that I got one he wants to drive it. I've let a lot of people drive it, but not him, he is a user and would probably wreck it, burn up the clutch or worse, even with me in the passenger seat. Some people can't be helped.

I have found that the trick with vandalism is to throw money at it and get it fixed immediately. Problem gone. I learned that lesson on a chevy with a popped window, hope it doesn't happen to my Mondial, that would actually hurt the piggy bank.

The haters can't hate if you don't let them.

Look at it this way - you got that person's gum, and they didn't get a trophy. They have to go out and find a replacement piece for that gum, and yet, will never be satisfied by the taste of it again.

 

Sad to hear people would do such things.

 

Well, look at it this way: You drive home in a CS and that loser walks back to his crappy apartment.

BTW, send it for DNA analysis. There are co's that do that kind of thing these days. Then show up on the guy's doorstep, return the gum. That would freak him out.

I hear ya...I was standing there once and some jerk pressed his gum onto my wife's forehead...and I just looked at him, "Like...WTF dude?"

 

yeah right..people spit and throw crap on my lamborghini as much as they did my ferrari's...you have no clue...

 

that's just awful. sorry to hear of this.

 

I a'm just your average blue collar worker who worked hard to get my TR. I have always loved and admired the marque. I carry heat when I drive it!

If someone has an issue with me, they can take it up with me. I might not win the fight, but I probably will. And even if I don't, at least the person had the balls to stand up and fight fair.

Attacking a defenseless car is one of the most low-down, cowardly acts I know.
