If anybody wants a paper weight I have 5 of the best bent valves I pulled from a 355. The price is FREE!! Just pay the shipping and they are yours..
How DARE you ask me to pay for shipping on something that's free!?! If I'm entitled to a free valve, shouldn't I be entitled to have it shipped to me for free, as well? While we're at it, if I'm going to get a free valve, I'm of the belief that it should be a NEW valve, not some bent one. So... when you have a good, new valve that I'm entitled to for free - not some crappy, bent one - and are prepared to ship it to me for free, then we'll talk. You know what? Now that I think about it, make it whole SET of new valves! The unmitigated gall of some people. Sheesh.
Don't take a free bent valve without a PPI!!!!! Also, if it hasn't had a recent grind, ask for a better deal!!!
Ok. I'll send them out..pm your addresses. Damn..if I knew this I would have kept the 2 pistons with holes in them too..
Why would I want pistons with holes in them when you're going to send me a whole set of new valves? I demand that you accompany the free new valves with a complete set of free new pistons - shipped free, of course.
If the holes are original and still close to factory spec, I will take them. I hope that the holes are not painted! You may keep the pistons, though.
Seriously, if you have a used/useless piston I would take it. I have a 308 piston that would love to have a playmate!!! PDG
I had a friend who ended up bending most of his valves in his Bora due to an error he made timing the engine. He turned them into mobile that hung in is garage right next to his cars ...
No. You just put them back in the head and hit the face with a hammer until it seals against the seat correctly. It helps if you heat the stem to red hot first.
Not quite complete this advice, use a (new, not one with hole!) piston for punching the valve into the seat. This ensures that the valve will be free from the piston under operation, otherwise it will be bent again.
I sincerely hope that a belt didn't break and thus bend the valves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
