    Happy Friday Guys,

We are pleased to share DIY instructions to repair the 355 ashtray frames.

This is a common issue with these plastic frames. We've seen quite a few of them either cracked or warped, some partially repaired. It's really not that hard to get a great result with a little preparation and a few supplies, and we are happy to show you our process.

You want the area to be strong too, so it doesn't break or warp again, and we have included how to reinforce the area and make it stronger than it ever was.

The best repairs are ones that look like they never were fixed, this document takes you all the way to a flawless result.

Here are a couple teaser photos - the full document is available here: http://www.**********.com/Downloads/Sticky-RX-Refinishing-Solutions_Ferrari_F355%20Ashtray%20Frame%20Repair_REV000.pdf

For any of you non-DIY'ers, we are happy to provide this repair and refinishing service for you, please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

Or you could send them to stickyRX with all your switches and not bother. Thats what im doing this fall.

By the way been using my F1 paddles lots and they look and feel fantastic.

Kinda wish I didnt have to send my switches but 5 years in and the plastic dip paint is rubbing off. I am keeping this car a long time and I do not want to do them ever again. I do dirve my car daily in summer and always put window up and down.

Very nice of you guys to share your work instructions. This will be helpful for lots of people doing their own work. Do we know why the plastic parts warp? Is there pressure that makes them move where the piece installed? I'd guess so from the metal braces you put in.

Do you ever have to apply heat to help press out the warp, or just mechanical force?

    Thank you, Mike

Randy uses heat when possible. The 355 ashtrays break primarily because people draw them down with the screw. They should be shimmed between the bottom of the ashtray and the metal support bracket so they are not pulled down into the console.
