    It's that new detergent that can remove Krispy Kreme grease from tan convertible tops, isn't it???

    My only drop top is a Z3, but it does have a tan top and does have some greasy looking stains - Can I get in on the deal?

    Kidding - had to make my 1000th post something silly :)

    p.s.: I've hated Krispy Kreme since 1988 when they were served to us on a daily basis in Navy boot camp in Orlando, Fl... YUCK!

    OK, here it is....

    Well known Fchatter Hank Garfield has designed a fantastic quick-deploy tonneau cover for Ferrari spiders. The "Spider Top" is an extremely lightweight ripstop nylon that can be installed in just seconds, and allows you to leave the top down on your car while going into a restaurant, coffee house, or anywhere you need sun-protection for your Ferrari interior. Save yourself the hassle of raising the 348 or Mondial top, save the fragile seat potentiometers in your 355 spider, and save those expensive hydraulic rams on your 360 spider! With the Spider Top, you simply place the fron section under your wiper blades, attach the rear section to your tenax snaps, and pop your mirrors thorough the holes. Really, it only takes seconds.

    Less searing heat, less sunlight damage, less sticky/gooey interior. At a concours, it keeps your interior clear of grass clippings and little dust bits until the judges arrive. At the track (like our local VIR), it keeps the dust and chalk from messing up the interior when you're in the paddock. At Starbucks, it deters prying-eyes.

    We took a several to the Cavallino Classic last week where they were incredibly well received. I sent Paul Hill (Hill Engineering) back to London to see how well they survive the fickle summer weather in England.

    Daniel, could this be made to work for a Targa top? There are days I'd like to drive to work without the Targa top, but then I don't want to park it all day outside without the top and I can't fit in the car with the top, so I usually never take off the Targa top. This would really help!

    Perhaps. But how do you usually react when you return to your Ferrari to find fingerprints on the windows or further bubbling of the console pieces or pulling of the leather dash airbag & instrument binnacle?

    Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your interest.

    I've tested my prototype and production black Spider Tops in 105 degree CA summer temps. It didn't get at all hot, probably due to the thinness of the material and the fact that there is actually a goodly amount of air flow underneith. What doesn't "cook", because the sun's rays never touch these items; is your dash, seats, carpeting and your other leather appointments. BTW, the black Spider Top didn't cook either :) These benefits will be duplicated in the case of GTS Ferraris.

    Daniel @ RICAMBI will keep everyone clued in.
