Albert Uderzo, the French comic book artist and cartoonist, born 25 April 1927, passed away 24 March 2020, aged 92. Uderzo was co-founder and illustrator of the world-famous "Asterix" series, in collaboration with René Goscinny. Albert Uderzo was an avid Ferrari collector and lifelong Ferrari enthusiast and also instrumental with the Club Ferrari France. He purchased a large number of Ferraris from the French distributor Charles Pozzi SA in Paris.
    Among the many Ferraris Albert Uderzo owned was 365 P2/3 Berlinetta chassis #0828, 512 M 1971 chassis #1024, 308 GTB Michelotto chassis #20951, 512 BB LM chassis #24127 and F40 LM chassis #88522. Uderzo also owned a 400i chassis #45289, a 288 GTO #53325, F40 chassis #77978, an F50 chassis #103220 and a 550 Maranello chassis #109821. He also owned a red Enzo.
See also Club Ferrari France magazine, issue #9 of December 2006.

Below are some photos I took over the years since 1980.
The first photo shows Albert Uderzo in Hockenheim 5 June 1983.

Asterix, along with Tintin, were among my favorite cartoon books growing up. Learned a lot of geography & history through both. Still have both collections.
Thank you and R.I.P. Mr. Uderzo.

First of all RIP Monsieur, merci for all the childhood moments of wonder, I recall as a kid reading about the young Roman with a fast red chariot made in Milan, perhaps the first innuendo I ever understood...

He lived a full and wonderful life.

This movie with chariot racer Schumius and team manager Jean Todtus I did not know about, how cool is that, specially the pitstop. For those who don't understand French Todt says he has three tenths of a sand clock lead:)

Sorry for the mistake, time flies by... it was actually the 30th Anniversary (the Club was founded in '68 long before I joined, and since then we had the 40th Anniversary in 2008 and the 50th in 2018).
Albert Uderzo had been President of the French Ferrari Club in the '70, and was still "President d'Honneur" (Honorary President).
He was there with his F50 at the very first Ferrari Club meeting I attended in '98, and he was occasionnaly participating in Ferrari Club events the following years - in spite of his incredible talent and deserved success, he was always easy going.
    He will be missed.

    Many thanks Marcel,

I took this picture in March 1988 in Dijon.
3 GTO attended to this meeting.
-53325 (6187 NA 92) owned by Albert Uderzo with yellow foglights
-53779 (211 FGX 75) owned by Christian Clérico with yellow foglights
    -xxxxx (GE-1328-U) coming from Switzerland

Albert Uderzo was very friendly with me during all the meetings of the Club Ferrari France.
Marcel, are you able to identify the telaio of GE-1328-U?
Nice guy at the steering wheel, I had the opportunity to cover several laps. I remember: no AC, no PW.
    Thank s in advance.

    Fred.
