Coverage has just started in the UK, with an interview with the idiot Mosley
Nico in 9th in Q1 - hope he makes it into Q3 again. So much for the fastest cars in practice - BMW - Villeneuve (perhaps NASCAR is definitely his calling). Carol Crystal ball says out in Q2 will be Speed, Albers, Klein, Heidfeld, DC ? ? ?
WOW!!! Ferrari lays down the gauntlet in session 1. 1:15.8 for MS, 1:16.3 for FA. And then the mobile chicane (Trulli) goes 1:15.5, RS right behind MS...I don't think we'll be citing Bridgestone for not getting it done this weekend.
Good morning guys - hey, it's only 5:30 am in CA! Too bad for Nico - he needs to place as high as possible to compensate for the engine penalty. I sure would like to see him in a more competitive team - such a waste of talent. Carol what's up with the Toyotas today???
Hey, Carol. I still get up early for the sessions. How about MS with an official lap record- by :00.2- in the second session? Somebody is out to alter the make up of the driver's championship and ruin Michelin's 100-yr celebration in process. I said earlier this week that if Ferrari could win the French GP, I could foresee this thing going down to the wire. I think MS has a chance. Nico will make it to a better team...Speed said the change was due to over-revving, but I thought they dropped his engine again while shipping it. Whatever the case, he deserves a real shot with a good team.
Massa into P2 (now P3), MS fastest S1. Brilliant mental game Ferrari is putting over on Renault. MS P1 - fantastic move!!!! Now de la Rosa needs to move up over Fisi. (My crystal ball is pretty close in the guess for the "outs" in Q2. Q3 should prove interesting with the shorter time. Carol With the newly enacted rules, if a laps already started - it may be completed - wonder what that will do the the status? Out in Q2 - as predicted: Speed, Albers, Rubens, Klein, Heidfeld, Webber GO NICO!!!
10-4 on the get up early - I've set the alarm clock for the "wee hours" before too! Great for MS on the lap record - I think he's really got a a definite change to upset Alonso. Agreed on Nico - he'd be a good fill for Montoya - kinda miss not seeing his name on live timing! Back to live timing - Speed is about a 7 minute delay from live timing. Carol
Speed TV here in the US is delayed by about 15 minutes. It's really dumb how the program schedule on their website says it's live. Edit: Quali 2 just ended 2 seconds ago here. 12 min diff from Andrew's post.
Massa needs to move up ahead of the two Toyotas - not good with Trulli in 5th and Massa in 7th - hopefully that will change with a pit stop. Both McLaren's in. With approximately 5 minutes remaining - this should be good! Carol
Ferrari 1-2...Alonso gets off the mat for P3. Fisi gets pushed down to P7. If only Trulli had gotten ahead of Alonso, it could be a perfect weekend. However, Alonso's time is almost equal to his fastest of the weekend, so he's gotta be running light. Trulli could get him on pit strategy. Ralf is right there also. I think Renault tried to run Alonso super-light just to get the pole on Michelin's 100-yr anniv. He didn't get it, and I think he's in danger of falling down to the #5 position. Bridgestone was the party crasher this weekend.
Msc Mas ALO Tru Rsc Rai Fis All Ferrari front row woooohoooooo Massa only .02 of a sec slower than Schumi
This is very encouraging - Ferrari 1-2 MS FM FA JT RS KR GF PD NR DC Massa ahead of the Toyotas! great. Carol
Well it wasn't what I picked for the F1 tipping, but it still makes me smile! That's the way I like to be wrong! Must be on the FRONT ROW! I believe that's beer-worthy. Mmmm, beer! Michael needs to catch fire more often. Last time he caught fire he went on to win the race, now he's caught fire and put it on pole.
It's interesting that Impy comes back on FChat when the red cars start improving and JMP goes away - Impy, do you know some thing the rest of us don't! Hope the race is a good one tomorrow for Ferrari and it's a Ferrari 1-2. Trulli needs to block Fisi from advancing. Start will be interesting - suspect Alonso will try to split the red cars - hope Massa takes defensive blocking lessons tonight. Carol Now if Intersport can beat the Spyders in Salt Lake today, that will make me VERY happy!!
man what a great qualifying!!!! Was more like a race for the first few laps between Michael and Alonso, haha. So we've got.. Bridgestone Bridgestone Michelin Bridgestone Bridgestone Interesting!
1stly, it's one of the greatest quali i've seen in years. hehe...MS battling out with FA wheel - 2 - wheel is like a teaser for tomoro. but good **** by massa. he's really moving up now. but i'm a bit concerned about the start tomoro. MS has been a rather slow starter t/out this whole season. massa beat him in nurburgring and also in indy last time around...i hope massa will dive and block FA. those toyotas caught me by surprise. Forza Ferrari!!
