I'm a big Federer fan. I had to stop watching after he blew the 5-2 first set lead and the set point. It's like going to see a movie with a lot of hype and you absolutely hate the ending, yet you keep watching it every year hoping for a different ending.

Sad to say but I think Nadal could beat Federer on any surface, any time and could probably beat him in table tennis, checkers, even tiddly winks.

    Ouch!.....

Lets see what happens at Wimbledon - Roger seems a lot happier on grass. I'm not ready to write him off yet......

    Cheers,

He's definitely not written off. I think he still has 1-2 more majors in him. A win at Wimbledon would be nice. He's still my favorite player and has been since he beat Pete back in 01 Wimbledon.

I considered him the GOAT two years ago but it's hard to make that argument any more. Nadal has a dominating record over ALL his rivals and he will probably match or beat RF's record of 16 majors.

I was surprised that Fed lost the first set after leading 5-2. But I wasn't shocked he lost the match. The way he played when he beat Djokovic was unreal. Had he been able to play that way against Nadal he could have won.

It will be interesting to see what happens at Wimbeldon. I would like to see Murray or Djokovic come through.

I'm a big Nadal fan (as I was an Agassi fan) - I love versatile baseliners, the serve / volley game really ruined it for me.

Used to argue with a colleague about these two. Since Fed can now claim he's won on all surfaces, it's hard to dispute his greatness. However, Nadal simply owns him - and given the age difference, that may stick.

Nadal's biggest issue will be staying injury free. If he can - and I doubt he will - it's possible he moves past Fed's total major wins (also assumes Fed doesn't win more - he will IMHO).

The only thing that kept Fed from really destroying the recordbooks is Nadal. So far this year, Nadal just hasn't looked as sharp as he used to, same with Fed. I think Fed's time has come. He will still be a factor, but I don't think he will get back to #1. He also doesn't seem like someone that can stand being 2nd best. If he doesn't win another major soon, I think we may see him retire.

Ferrer is probably my favorite player to watch right now. It seems like he puts everything he has into every single shot.

    That's a huge "maybe"!..... I think he's the GOAT;

    - 28 straight grand slam quarter finals
    - 23 straight semi's
    - 10 straight finals

    - May remain untouched for generations. Agassi, "what he's done in the game is unparalleled. I do leave room for Nadal to trump (Federer's) career, but as of right now I don't see anything close to it". [SI, 06/13/11]

Can hardly wait for Wimbledon :)

    Cheers,
    Ian
