Hi there, My name is Sean McKee, and I make DVDs for the FCA Illinois chapter. I was not paid by the club to create these, I just took preorders to help finance the video and 3D animation, graphics, etc. I own a company that restores classic Hollywood movies and TV shows, so I have the facility and staff at my disposal to create the DVDs. That being said, we did the work on off hours when it was convenient, and always delivered a single-event DVD within 3 months, or the whole year-in-review by Christmas. I don't know who is working on your regions' DVD, but it may well be the same situation, where it is on off hours, etc. To be honest, for me it was a labor of love, because the sales I got off one event DVD did not even come close to covering the cost of production, so it certainly was not the highest priority on the list. I think the FCA should build the cost in to every members fees, then that could cover the costs of developing the DVD. Anyway, the point being that the guys in our region would agree it was worth the wait, and I'm sure it will be in your area as well (hoping the guys working on it are good - I don't know them) but it may not be the job paying their bills, so go easy on them...
I'm in Canada right now, but I heard that the video is almost done and it is FABULOUS!! Can't wait to se it too, let's be patient Roland F40LM on the road
From early things I know, this project is being done meticulously. Some of the graphics in the opening scene are incredible. 3D generation, sharp, and unique. As for footage, the preliminary clips from the DVD website only hint at the quality of the content. Its just around the corner, so don't early apex and careen off the turn too soon!
