Driving down as a spectator or exhibitor?

There is at least an hour, if not 90-minute difference between departure times for spectators versus exhibitors. The cars to be placed on the green needs to be there prior to 9am (generally earlier, much much earlier) because the gates open to the spectators at 9:30am.

In years past, those that are going to exhibit their cars leave the Bay Area at around 6am so they'll be idling/overheating (esp. the older cars) in the line-up getting in right at 7:30am.

You are only a few hundred yards from being on the green (you are on the driving range), so you will need to get there as early as possible to avoid long lines and endless idling. I strongly suggest targeting a 7:30 am arrival. Not only will you avoid most of the traffic, but there will still be pastries and coffee (for exhibitors).
