Friend of mine is looking to purchase 09 Scud preferably darker colors(none flashy). Does not want to put up with the import BS from US, prefers something that's already in country. If anyone has any hits a PM would be appreciated....

Thanks, seen those autotrader ones. But those guys are way off in terms of pricing, about 50G. Just don't get why in Canada people live in a different world then everyone else....

won't get a Canadian car for the price of a US car plain and simple... its not difficult if you have the right person importing the car for you. Plus you will save the difference.

$224,000 for a Canadian Scud? Sounds like a decent price to me. If you can haggle and steal it for $199k or even the low $200's, its a very good deal.

USA Scuderias are listed between $175-$200k USD right now, so a Canadian Scud around the $200k range is pretty close to the US price.

I can't believe how much 430 prices have dropped, you can find a good USA 430 Spyder for $150k...and Coupes much less.

    Agreed.
09 Scuderia's probably sold for around 400K here in Canada, and to find a used one for over 40% depreciation is a very good deal IMO also.

The Canadian vs US F-cars is still a "politics of business" issue to protect markets and dealers in Canada. Otherwise we would not have all the fees, taxes & RIV compliance.

@crcs Your friend may want to buy a US Scud if there is a worthwhile "net" savings.....there is way more selection in that market. Imagine the guys who bought these cars new in Canada and are selling them......more depreciation than that of the US Scuds.

As Lucas says, If you can find a Canadian 09 in the low 200's.....that is a very good deal.

As fall and winter approach, your friend will find the right car & deal if he is patient.....;)

I know 2 guys who bought brand new Scuds from FOO in '08.....final price with taxes was $380k I think. That equals $100k depreciation every year as of todays price..., its unbelievable.

If you can get a nice clean Scud for $200k right now, I don't see the Scud prices going lower than $120-150 in the upcoming years.

2004 360 Chal Stradale's are still going strong for the $150k +range, and they are already 7 years old.

Luca 380 with taxes seems a tad high to me for the scud - i know of someone who paid 380 on the road for the 16m new - you sure they paid that with taxes on the road for the scud ?

No, Luca is correct.....I know someone who bought a new 08 Scud and he also paid that price.

Don't forget that in 2007 ( to order an 08 Scud) was a different market than today or 2009.

I bought an 07 Z06 and I paid 107K for that car in 2007, you could get new 09's and 10's for less money than that........and my depreciation was basically 50% for my car when I sold it this spring.

The Ferrari's have also taken huge depreciations in the last 2-3 years.

It is great for the guy buying a used F-Car.......;)

How about the 550 barchetta, it's held up pretty well in value in the past 2-3 years,in Canada, anyways .. I understand FoO sold the same one twice in the past year.

Rocco, the Barchetta seems to have held up in value in the last 2-3 years, in Canada. It will be interesting to see where their values will be in the future.
In all honesty, if I did not have a soft spot for my Barchetta & 575, I would own a Scuderia without a doubt.
I don't know if it is just me, but I get an adrenaline rush, having driven the Scud......better than a doppio espresso! :)

I think I would get in a LOT of trouble with the Scud because I would want to drive it near it's limit and near my limit.....;)

Re: Barchetta at FoO, the person that recently bought that car was considering my Barchetta as well. The only differences are that I started to drive mine, so I am at 5800 miles from the original 2900 and mine is a US Barchetta.

I think the 16M was over $400k....Don't forget with a Scud you can add $25,000 of options. MSRP was probably $310, + taxes, delivery and add some carbon and gadgets and you can end up around $380 range.

I drool at these Scud prices today, $199, $210 seems like a decent price for such an impressive piece of machinery.

There were a few 550 Barchettas around the GTA. Thats definietely a collectors car now...I don't know what the MSRP was, but you can find them for under $250k these days according to recent listings. A very unique and beautiful Ferrari IMO.

that makes sense - in 07 things were good, when the melt down did happen the 16ms would have been the deal of the decade -

theres a barchetta out in b.c right now for 199 - with 7,800 kms - you know anything about it ? Is it a CDN car, or US car - ?

i still find the scud prices too high - there are just too many cars out there -

the 360 should be around the 90K mark MAX
    360CS - 110K MAX
    430 125k MAX
scud - 150 - 160 MAX - and im talking non story cars - that are clean, storied cars, or mutli owner cars - 10 -20 % less -

with 20,000 cars made of each of these models almost and the world economy the way it is - these current prices are too high IMO for these daily driver ferrari's

Vasco, yes it has been advertised through Distinctive Collection here in Calgary.
    The ad is on Autotrader.
To tell you the truth, I am not sure if I still want to do this.........especially after I have taken the car out for a drive.....:)
ps. Someone wanted to buy it in the spring and I changed my mind........I guess I have an emotional attachment to this car..........the only therapy that seems to help is to drive it.;)

That Barchetta happens to be mine. It took me over 2 years to find it and it is a US car 357/448 that I bought from Steve Harris Imports.
I bought that car with 2980 miles and I was not going to drive it much, but I managed to get to 5800 miles (9300Km) now.
Vasco just commented, "You sure you wanna do this?".......I have an emotional attachment to it since I have owned and driven it. I also have an 05 575 and if I did sell the Barchetta I would look at a 360CS or Scud......but leaning towards the CS. ;)

Maybe I should sell the 575 and keep the Barchetta? It's like an emotional roller coaster question for me.....lol....

Domenic...I am a huge fan of the 550 Barchetta. Its such a rare, understated beauty. It has the smooth shape of the 575, and Pininfarina did a magnificent job of "chopping the top" that it almost looks natural. With 448 examples made, its a collectors piece, I think it would hold its value, and possibly appreciate in value in the upcoming years.

Like BigRed-Rick stated before, Ferrari is making 20,000 + vehicles a year, pumping out them out as fast as they can. The unique qualities of the new 599's, and Scuds doesn't exist anymore....they are just too many on the market nowadays.

IMHO...keep thed 550 Barchetta and get the 360 CS, those are instant classics now.

    Thanks Lucas,
I also love the look of the Barchetta and it may possibly appreciate in value in the future.
I do have a lot more fun driving this car over the 575......I have an X-Pipe with Tubis on the Barchetta and it is a distinct sound, firmer suspension and the gated 6 speed.

    Thanks for your honest opinion.

ps. IMOH, I think Scuderias are a very good value at 200K +/-

dominic im gonna go out on a limb here -

you should in no way sell the 550B or the 575 for a scud - that would be a bad trade IMO -

yes the scud is great - but the 550b was close to 600k when it came out wasnt it ? and the 575 was big money - going from a 12 to an 8 - regardless how new the 8 is in the ferrari world i think ( i maybe wrong) but i would never ever do - the only time i would consider getting rid of a 12 ferrari to go for an 8 ferrari is the 288, and or f40 -

i would think your better off to wait a few more years, and get your 360cs when they get under 100 drive it, then sell it - but what the hell do i know :D

Rick, I probably know about the same or less than you.....:D

I know that the Barchetta was at least 500K in Canada when it came out.... I was not even looking at one in those days. It all started out by looking for a 430 in 2006 for me......I had just sold my 1983 400i 5 Speed car, which ended up in Toronto by the way.
I then saw a Barchetta in the flesh at our local race track in 2007 and fell in love with it.
I asked the owner if he would sell it, and his answer was, "It's not for sale."
After looking 2 years to find the right Barchetta, I fell in love with the V-12's and started to look for a 575.
I like all of the different models for different reasons........emotional ones that may not have common sense.....lol
I can only afford what I have, so I may have to wait a few years as you say......but patience is a virtue........lol I am working on it....but it's tough :D

I maybe will try to tough it out....;)
