So he calls me as his car buddy. I'm not a Porsche guy but know some reputable people :)

Anyway, prices seem all over the place. Whats a good number for and some pointers.

    Thanks,
    dsd

Prices are very mileage dependent. Does he want it as a daily driver or a garage queen? Make sure he gets an independent PPI. About the only thing I can tell you for sure is that he's picked the right Porsche to buy.

    Isn't that the truth.

There's a $30K +/- difference between a garage queen and driver........but they all cost the same to fix.

    Make mine Speed Yellow.............yum.

He really needs to state what he wants the car for, his intended annual mileage, his budget, past Porsche experience, etc, before he can get advice. It'll help a lot with the answers........

He is looking for a driver coupe. Not 100% sure on the budget but I suspect he would like to stay under $60k.

    Thanks,
    dsd

    Great cars.

If he wants higher end, Ray Joseph at RPM is one source. http://www.rpmsportscars.com/door26.htm

I'm not a dealer so would welcome any corrections on this, but my sense right now is that $50K is going to be a "driver" with significant miles, while something more garage queen-ish is going to be closer to $80K+. The 'S' models seem to fetch six figures.

    dsd,

There is a 993TT for sale in the area. Slate gray with grey int... 60k+ miles I think. Owner motivated as he also has a 993GT2 cloned that has just been completed.

They are awesome cars; it is one of the last Porsches I really like coupled with the 997 GT3. The values have really held well. Best of luck for your friend!
