A Bay Area Elise owner recently lost his wife in a horrible accident during a group event, all because of a deer. It just goes to show that, even when driving in a safe manner and following the speed limit, the worst can still happen.

    Be safe, all....

He might have been better off hitting the deer instead of swerving into the rocks.

I suspect that Loti are not the best vehicles for head-on crashes. In 1970 a Chevrolet sedan coming around a blind curve in the rain on a highway near Brandenburg, KY spun out & into my lane. My Elan+2S hit it head-on. The Elan, in a word, vaporized; the sedan was only minor-damaged.

Brandenburg was too small for an ambulance, but it did have a hearse, so I was taken to the Ft. Knox hospital in that (!). Both ankles broken; had it not been for my jump boots, I might have lost both feet.

If there is a moral to this, it may be to think twice before getting very small, light cars with minimal frontcrash protection. You may be the most careful of drivers, but the other fellow [or just a freak highway situation] may not be.

Yes your right, Its almost better to hit it and brake just to limit the damage.

It's hard to say. When you hit something like that you take out its legs and the body comes full tilt through the windshield. RIP to this person.

Small world. My sister lives in Brandenburg and drives a hearse... Did this happen a long time ago? I can have her ask her boss about it.

My thoughts go out to those involved in the deer incident.
