    Look at the aileron deflection. Lost so much lift on the left wing that it looks like he is in full deflection to try to maintain wings level.

    No, not really. The airplane flew okay with one aileron missing. You just didn't put the " bad" wing near the ground because you couldn't lift it. The aileron deflection in this shot was probably the start of a roll. Here's the rest of it.

    Thanks for the clarification. I guess the initiation of a roll would also explain the upward elevator deflection.
