1st pic is what's on my car now (Ansa) viewing from the front facing the rear 2nd pic is the Larini exhaust that I bought for my car 84QV, doesn't look the same. 3rd is the exploded view of the 84QV exhaust system that shows the part #2 ("L" bracket) which I don't have and the Larini exhaust didn't come with it. So, why don't I have the 'L" bracket and how can I install the Larini with out the "L" bracket or how do I get one? Thanks. You've answered your own question -- buy the "L" brackets (the person who removed the stock muffler should've saved it and the brackets).
Unfortunately I'm the third owner of the car and the PO got the car just like that. So I guess the original owner which I don't have anyway of contacting change the exhaust.
Hi Mike, Glad to see you're getting round to fitting this.... I can't answer your problem except that it was a direct bolt up to my car - even used the original nuts. Looks to me like the current one you have is non standard but at least you only need a couple of little brackets to make it fit - at least according to the parts pic above. Good luck. Mark Taiwan/UK
Mike, Call Daniel at Ricambi. He's got the brackets you need. P/N 108290 Barry Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes Mark, It's definitely non standard and I just found that out because I got the car already like that. It would have been a direct bolt up too if I still have the original exhaust. I guess the only thing keeping me from installing this now are two "L" brackets. But that's ok I can fabricate a couple or buy two. I'll let you know as soon as I install it.
Mike, Please post some sound clips of the Larini. I've been thinking of getting one of these in the future for my 328. Which version did you get?
No problem Richard, I got the Sports version which I purchased from a fellow Fchatters (Mark Linlott) that was installed on his 328. Unfortunately for him it was too loud for his wife and I think his neighbors too. How many other version are there anyway?
I think there are two versions. I want the loud one. I've got some Harley idiots in my neighborhood that I want to sit in front of their house at 3:00 am and just rev.
I wouldn't go loud. My Larini sports system is louder than stock, but is very refined. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'll work on a clip and get up in a couple of days. Will also put up some pictures installed. Installation was easy, but did involve sitting in the back matching up exhaust gaskets until the right one was found. The inlet for the muffler from the cat is not beveled so the normal gaskets don't work on that side.
Barry, I've contacted David from Larini and explained to him my situation, to my surprise David is so kind enough to offer the "L" bracket at no cost. So it's just a matter of time before I get my bracket. Richard, after going through Larinis website, I just learned that there are actually three versions, The Sports System, The Club Sports Systems, and the Race Systems.
Larini have video clips from their site that I couldn't access from my computer. See if this will work for you guys: http://www.larinisystems.com/video.php
I think I've seen that before when I was perusing their website. I'm curious what the "race" sounds like on a 328.
I think that belongs to GT4fore. According to Larini, Larini 'Race' System The maximum. For certain Supercars we produce Race Systems. These featherweight, typically tube-only, components offer the ultimate in weight saving technology and race-car acoustics. They differ from the norm in that they offer little or no muffling at all. Consequently, they are ideally suited for track/off-road use. The loud and aggressive sound clearly states intent and where once there was regulation of exhaust gas outflow in the form of a silencer, there is now nothing, resulting in a sound and weight saving greater than our usual Sports / Club Sport mufflers.
Yea! got my "L" bracket today from Larini in UK. David from Larini is so nice enough to rush this bracket to me at no charge Great Service, thank you David.
