fellow f-chatters, if you have a wheel that needs to be repaired DO NOT GO to wheeltechniques in santa clara! i have been using these guys since the early nineties. i had them repair a customers 19 " hamman wheel and they dropped the ball not once but three times, also they were rude to another customer of mine who has a lambourghini vt roadster. i told jeff the owner how unhappy i was and all he could say was i am sorry, and i replied you sure are, is it me or are most companies that work in automotive lame. of course this is my opinion regarding wheeltechniques there shop is dirty, they don"t answer the phone, just hurting in everyway.

Bob - the tip comes just in time. My car is out and the front wheel needs to get the lip fixed. Any thoughts on who to go to instead?

I've heard similar stories about wheeltechnique. Many dealers have stopped recommending them. Their turn around time is 2-3 wks also very long.

I didn't find Wheel of America in Hayward to be better either based on a phone conversation with them. They told me that there is no way to make sure the paint matches the rest of the wheels which is just not acceptable.

I am considering sending my bent wheel down to SoCal if I have to. It's a small dent so I am living with it for now.

it looks like i will give wheelenhancement in culver city a try, i hear good things about them from some of my porche clients, also will post in so.cal thread to see who they recommend. it is really frustrating that there is no quality wheel repair shops in the bay area, if i had the capital i would open a place people could trust, then i would put wheeltechniques out of business where they belong!

Another thumbs down for WheelTechniques from me, too. From personal experience, they were slow, then damaged my set of undamaged wheels which they then apologized for, then fixed. But, I was out of a whole set of four wheels for six months! Luckilly, I had a spare set of Speedlines that I could use.

I have also used Wheel America in Hayward. I'd rate them a 5 out of 10. "Good enough for government work," was the first thing out of my mouth when I received my repaired racing wheel from them (they had to fix a bent lip, and then repaint the wheel). For the money, it wasn't an insult but it certainly was no bargain.

Rich, I'd love to know where else I could send my wheels to get refinished and/or repaired (I've got a set from last year that I need to fix) ... :) Thx

    Bob,
Although I haven't used Wheel Enhancement in Culver City for wheel repair, I have purchased wheels from them before, and their customer service is beyond reproach. They are a class act and I would expect the same for wheel repair too.

I also have a bad experience with wheel techniques. Took too long to fix my wheels and at the end; one of the wheel that I really wanted to get fix was not even repaired. Well let me know what it takes to start this business; I might be interested in starting one...

I have had great luck w/ Right Way Wheel on Alpine way in Walnut Creek. Jose does quality work and VERY reasonably priced.
    Sorry, I don't have his #, but I'm sure 411 does.

i have seen jose's work in the past, same problems. in particular they tried to repair a customer of mine's porche cayenne wheel ,they tried two times could not get it right, then had his wheel two months. this guy got so frustrated he ended up buying aftermarket bbs wheels which of course looked great!, then when they (rite way) tried to charge him extra because the silver powder coat was hard to match, well the paint looked like krylon someone would use to paint a metal lawn chair!!!! imo ther is no ONE in the bay area that does QUALITY wheel repair.

wheel tech in santa clara strikes again, i was in moraga today detailing a long time clients porche, anyway as i was finishing his next door neighbor pulls in with a stunning m3 competion edition and i notice his right front wheel does not match the 19" bbs wheels on the rest of the car. he curb shotted his wheel and sent it to wheeltechniques in santa clara, well they LOST his wheel thank goodness he has a buddy also with a m3 who put aftermarket wheels on his car and lent him the right front oe wheel, these guys are unbeleiveable , use wheeltechniques at your peril!!!!!!

hello all!! i have been browsing here for a while but have never posted before, anyways to contribute i have also used jose, his work is ok, nothing spectacular, i think they recently had a management change but jose is still part owner.
i have also used pacific rim in pittsburg, they pick up the rims and delivered them as well, they deal mostly with chrome wheels though. i hope this helps.
