Thx God ! U've got the right one !!! But,what about the one w/ 3 holes at 6H00 ? And for the L-series ?
You posted already the L-Series stering wheel which is similar to the one from the Daytonas (the picture with the bown dashboard yesterday). The black on on the other picture is not original due to the color and diameter. The early prototipos have also a thinner outer leather rim, the new production from Momo from the 90´s have a bigger one. The right prototipo with 3 holes at 6 o´clock is a all time discussion: Some think it is after market, others believe it is original. If I remember right I have seen one in an early M-Dino from first owner.
The 71' M-series I put a pic of has the same owner since 1978. He never changed the wheel. And we could wonder why a 7 years old Dino would have its wheel changed ? So, another reason to think it's original (even if this one has been repainted in black). Another question : what's the real probability for having changed for the same "prototipo" wheel, and rather than for the same if it was the 2 holes ? On another hand, I cannot get any answer if all the L-series got the wooden wheel.
Hello Pascal, the prototypo steering wheel you refer to has never been fitted by the factory the wooden steering wheel has been fitted to 206 GT`s, very early L-series and all to France delivered L-series (all other L-series have been fitted with a Momo leather steering as displayed in this thread from #00714) Regards Matthias
Great ! Danke ! We also can see that # 810 when used for "The Persuaders" TV series, as new, has a leather wheel too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
To my knowledge, leather was not available. Although there was one Dino discussed here some time back that made claim to having and original leather dash fitted at the factory.
!!! ;-) Mathias, Alberto, Der Leder was too Teutonic too on the Daytona... So, why only the Dino ?!!? No pb of homologation, so. Then, I will have to find a wooden wheel if all is going as I want...
The Daytona had wood at the start of its production, larger in diameter, and maybe too slippery to "manhandle", thus possibly the change. Salut, Alberto
Saludo Alberto ! Ans as French Men are very wel known for their strong shake hands, they were ythe only one able to affaord and handle wooden wheels on L-series !! Ciao !
I have been wondering after that when someone will create a fresh batch Guess it has not happened yet
No kidding. If two people really want the same thing and only one is available. I don´t think it is a reproduceable price, but our Member TR500 (Volkmar) was outbidden at almost 4K $. I don´t know if he is still searching..
