    Hi,

Just in the process of purchasing my first Ferrari and looking to understand what would be typical in condition on a 2018 488 with 18,000km on it.

The vehicle is lowered but has suspension lifter and has a few decent scrapes on the lower front bar.

Would the photos attached be typical on a vehicle to this spec?

If it is lowered even with a lift it could still scrape. Doesn’t look like it was banged up but typical of scraping a driveway or two (or ten).

Completely normal and happens all the time. Sometimes a large speed bump will scrape it. They make skid plates just for this purpose.

If you really want to scrape it good in just take it over to Eric’s house.

This should not stop you from getting the car. If it really bothers you get it fixed, I say leave it the way it is until you scrape it a couple times.

I don't have a 488 - but you convinced me to buy this for my F430 - thanks for the post, brother!

  8. Define "typical"?

It happens, and it is not a sign of abuse per se.

Personally it would not bother me.

I alway use the 5 feet test.

If I can't see it form 5 feet away, it's not there.

(and for the underbelly of the car, I don't even need the 5 feet test, because if I can't see it without a lift, or contorting myself like a gymnast, it's not there)

When I was shopping for a 488, I don't think that I saw even one car with zero damage. The one I bought had very slight marks, I carefully touched them up, and did PPF on the whole front and they are not visible at all, at this point. The one you are looking at is probably a little worse than typical, but as others have said, it's not a sign of abuse. Something like that can happen very easily.

I'd be more surprised if it didn't have some scrapes after that mileage, totally normal. Probably means someone recently repainted a bumper if it was pristine.
