There is this leather drape that comes down from a hard plastic cover (the one circumventing the spare tire).
Mine has come down secondary to the glue drying up I guess. Probably a common problem.

If I remove this large plastic part that the leather drape hangs from should I be concerned with anything?

What type of adhesive should I use to rehang the leather drape?

There have been threads on pulling the well out...one chatter chopped it off to fit NASCAR radiator...

I use 3m Spray Adhesive #77 for carpet and vinyl jobs like that......if surface is real irregular something like Liquid Nail Small Projects works as well. It's also pinched in place by the edge bead, on my 1977s..

On my 308 I just removed the screws and lifted the plastic shell up - no problem.

I used duct tape. Not very elegant but the back side doesn't show anyway, and it's lasted fine for a year.
