Hi there, I have an 85 QV Euro that was imported to the USA (CA) from France in 1985 and 'federalized' by someone back then. The front bumper is damaged and I thought it would be easy enough to get a new euro bumper and install, since this is a euro car...

Long story short the front bumper mounts I have don't align with the superformance euro bumper I purchased. These mounts look to have been crudely adapted USA mounts but I'm not sure? The mount has part number 17D788-BA stamped in. Any thoughts on what I'm looking at here, or how you would proceed? Thanks! - Mike

You Tuber “ Ratarossa “ did this mod back in 2020 ish converting a US 308 to a Euro UK bumper and much more. Lots of issues.
    Worth looking up, good luck.

If it's a GRP (fiberglass) replica bumper it would be pretty fast and easy to repair for someone with a bit of GRP experience. SEM make a nice satin black bumper paint (SEM 39103 black) that is pretty durable and looks like the factory rubber covering.

OK, looking into this more, seems I dont have a euro mount, nor a USA mount. Seems like a custom job done to federalize the car back in the 80's. Rather than fabricate a bunch of mounts I think I'll just fix my existing bumper (thanks @bitsobrits for the suggestion).
