Saw a 360 spider w/ bumper pads under the two corners of the front bumper. Looks like good protection just in case of a high driveway. Anyone know where I could get this?
I got mine from Independant Ferrari Service in MA. Ask for John Tirrell the owner. Tell him I sent ya...Nice guy! Great product...his are made from a plastic Derlin type product....black in color, so not so obvious like the metal ones, and the plastic is sort of slippery, and have a bevelled front edge to help them slide up and over stuff. Well thought out. [email protected] Ph: (508) 238-4224 Fax: (508) 238-4224 Independent Ferrari Service, Inc. John Tirell 21 Hampden Drive, Unit 10 South Easton, MA 02375 Category: Mechanic
I believe they get them from Premier -- otherwise, they both have made identical skid plates. I know for a fact that Premier makes their own.
Sorry, Roger, they have no website. Premier is one of the preeminent Ferrari collision repair/paint shops in the US. They have designed custom skid plates for their customers' various different F-cars. I know they've got them for the 355, 360 and 430 and probably some earlier models as well.

it looks like the plates have to be screwed into the bumper?! is that right? are there any alternatives to attaching the plates w/o screwing them in?
A couple comments. I ordered the Premier plates, but wasn't happy with them. Where they should be placed on the 360 bumper is not flat, but the plates are. So the fit isn't great. (Plate quality, attachment hardware, etc. is fine--and this issue would only bother some extremely detail oriented.) I made my own--using UHMW plastic, and molded them to exactly fit the curves of the bumper. If anyone wants the gory details on how to do it--let me know. I attached the ones I made with stainless steel bolts--these were installed when I had the front bumper pulled for a routine rock chip respray. However, I would now use double sided tape. 3M (I think) makes very sticky, very strong tape used to attach various auto ad ons (fender flairs and the like). I use a similar product in my wood shop--sticks almost as good as glue, but is removable. If I find the exact product info I'll post it.

Jack, That I don't know...but John seems to design a lot of his own stuff. His design for the 355, has the plastic milled to the front curvature of the existing "pad" on the underside of the bumper. This allows for complete covering of the front edge of the existing pad with new material. Like I said, looks very good cosmetically, and gives a nice bevelled edge when striking/catching pavement or a driveway.
use the Hill Engineering ones and please screw them on what good is tape, your putting on because there is a chance of scraping under the front with tape they well come right off?. I have them on my 355 work great oops wrong photo. lets try this one. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
