I can't find the cross reference front calipers for my 1980 308. Isn't there an exact bolt on alternative. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I don't think so. The same caliper is used on a bunch of cars, but the spacer between the halves of the caliper varies to accommodate varying rotor thicknesses. I think the 308 caliper is unique only because of the spacer. Other than that it is the same caliper as used on some Porsche 911 models. So rebuild kits are plentiful, but just buying a caliper ready to go is less plentiful.

Check out PMB Performance, they seem to be the specialists - here's their Ferrari calipers page:

Here's what they say (confirming Brian's note about spacer thickness differences):

Carl, your calipers are beautiful! But exactly why I was hoping for an alternative...$850? Ouch! I bought the rebuild kit for mine for $15...I was hoping someone has the exact part number for the Porsche or Mercedes equivalent...

I assume you are in need of 2 front calipers? You will spend at least $250 per caliper in used condition that will need rebuilding. The bolts that hold the caliper halves are NLA and a bear to get off. You break or strip them and you are out the cost of the caliper.
Plating charges will cost you at least $150 so you are already at $650.
That leaves $200 for labor and you get to $850. Good Luck

Carl, I don't need them. I'm a mechanic and have rebuilt dozens of calipers. I did it today and it cost me $15 for the two rebuild kits and $14 for all four pads. As I said, I was just wondering the part number of an alternative...but thanks for the info :)
