Has anyone here gone to the trouble of painting it like on the Scuderia 430 in grey? It would also require the leading edge to have the clearshield installed. I got a quote the other day for $190USA which I thought was a bit expensive. Rob.
They are CF, not painted. Fabspeed has a thread where they are doing a special on these. $160 seems way too much if you can get a CF one for $500. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=140477363&postcount=1
I had my 430 converted to a scuderia look. The entire front bumper was ordered in cf so e spoiler was also in cf. But I ended up painting the spoiler as the weave was terrible. The cf cloth was not layered on straight and the joining lines were visible. After painting it grigio silverstone, it looks fantastic! No complaints whatsoever. Cf or not cf, who cares.
Don't think Scud bumper is CF - was it aftermarket? What joining lines were visible, sounds more like a wrap!
Yes, aftermarket. Could be a wrap, after all it needs a core right? I could see the joint lines of the fibre cloth...so I'm not exactly sure if it's full cf. Very very light though. I could carry the front and rear bumper on each hand. The factory bumpers were impossible for me to lift on one hand.
Thanks for the help Anzir! Here is a photo of our replacement element. It is very easy to install... 10 minutes max. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! Jeff [email protected] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Only the 2009 Scuderia and late 2008 Scuderia with the Carbon fiber package have the carbon front spoiler. The standard Scuderia from 2008 has it in FRP painted silver.
The Scuderia I saw stationary (so I had a really good look ) was indeed not CF but painted in grey with the front leading edge in clear film so it was factory. That's where I got the idea to have it done. I'll find out the year as it is sitting in a showroom as the owner has lost his licence. Rob.
