The driver seat on my 456M has decided to act up and I am wondering where to start. I needed to put something in the back seats and the seat moved all the way forward (standard process). For the first time in forever I press the memory button to move the seat back to its normal place. After moving back a bit - it stop and will not move at all - up down, backwards forward...nothing. Only the bolster works. When I lift the back to access, nothing happens!

I am guessing there is a problem with the seat ECU - any other suggestions, the passenger side still works, are the seat ECUs the same between driver and passenger?

Any chance the wire could be hung up on the carpet and unplugged.

The SCU is seperate for each seat and really expensive. You should hope that it's this http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=282778
Which is the seat potentiometer which is a common problem on this as well as the 355. On the 355 it causes lots of issues because the top wont go down. They go bad on these and people just leave it like it is.
There are a lot of motors down there so if it were me, I would take the seat out and look for wires out and/or replace 13.
Number 13 is the cheap part 17 is the expensive one.

Of course if you have precocious daughters!

Strangely I checked the fuses for the seat, it was ok I put it back and it worked again. Maybe it reset the SCU, no complaints!
