    Hi,

Is anyone aware of any no drill options for installing license plates on the front of a Countach or a Diablo? NZ law requires them (and unlike Texas actually enforces the law) and we have aluminium plates here in NZ (unlike the UK where it seems the plastic plates can be 2-side taped to the front?) so they're moderately heavy. Laws are very strict - I cannot have plastic plates made, nor vinyl stickers - I must use the officially produced NZ plates.

    Any suggestions?

    Dino

If you are willing to accept more, unconventional ways to attach a license plate, you could zip tie it. A close friend of mine did the same thing to his 1975 periscopio

I'd have to look and see if there is somewhere I could even zip tie it to.

If you could tell me which model of both the diablo and Countach I could try to help.

Same applies in Australia - I got heavy duty double sided tape from Bunnings. I have had the same tape for 12 years. The Ferrari Dealerships here do the same thing when required.

Hi Dino, My friend here in NZ has a Diablo VT which has a stick-on front licence plate, he's never had any problems with the law that I'm aware of. You say you have a QV, I have another friend here who has an '86 QV and he's got a standard plate on the front of his. I'll check with him as to how he's done it.

That seems to be how the Lotus was done in the UK too. I think I may follow this pattern.

There was a period in which this was legal, but then they changed the plates to include a "watermark" for security reasons (to prevent fake plates being made) and now there are no legal suppliers of sticker type front plates - but I also wonder how much trouble the law will give?
Having said that, the heavy duty double sided tape seems to work well to fix the plates.

Just order these brackets (2x) 009466111 by your local Lamborghini dealership. These are the original front license brackets for all Diablos (except Diablo GT)

And except the 6.0 it seems - our bumper isn't shaped like that at the front either.
