I just discovered the front lower grill on 328 has been painted. I believe the original finish is anodized black. What would be the cost to have this refinished? Are there any recommended places to have this work done?

    Gerry,
There are a number of plating shops in the Stone Park area. I have used one shop for black anodizing called All-Brite Anodizing Company a number of years ago. They are located: 3118 North Ave. Stone Park Ph. 708-681-4830

I'm not absolutely positive, but I don't think the 328 had a black anodized grille.

I think it was natural stainless.

There are two front grills on the 328, the upper is natural aluminum. The lower is anodized black.

Ah yes, I forgot about that.

The place that 'Dabe' used did a nice job

All Bright Anodizing has moved, and has a new phone:

I need to completely strip the old paint off the grill before taking it to them to re-anodize. They indicated that if any paint remains, the that area will not be anodized. Any suggestions on removing all of the paint?

I'd try a chemical gel type, water soluable paint stripper.

You can get it at any hardware or home improvement store.

Also, you might check with Terrace Supply to see if they'd recommend something different. They are a supplier to body shops and have a few stores in the area.
