    Hey all,

Which way does the large dia on the front motor mount spacer go? They fell out when I was jacking the motor up to put the urethane mounts in . .. there's a c'bore in the spacers which would make the overall height different depending on which way it goes.

    Thanks,

    Sean

The 161/78 SPC shows the big end against the sheetmetal frame side (which makes sense for spreading out the load on that side and getting the load out closer to the vertical webs of the crossmember), but don't know/recall if it's "correct" -- is there any evidence in the paint on the top of the frame crossmember showing which diameter had been in contact with it? Also, item 32 seems to be a "height adjustment shim" (it's shown as a "U"-shaped washer that could be inserted/removed without fully removing the bolt), so rather than an exact height, it might be that the height needs to be adjusted to get the shift shaft linkage lined up? (sorry for the uncertainty)

Thanks Steve and you bring a good point about optimizing shift linkage alignment.

The way the picture is the way I "think" I mounted it when I put my engine in 'cause I think I looked at that pic from the manual also. What is/was weird is there is a counterbore in the middle of the side which is pressing against the frame . . . so the counterbore is doing what . . . making sure there's no load right in the center of the frame member? To boot, there was a witness mark in the counterbore making it look like it was mounted the way I took the pic which could of been PO mistake . . . the witness mark contradicts the pic I guess.

I'm just going for the optimum shift linkage alignment since that's probably whats most important . . . thanks for bringing that up. I didn't have any of the thin alignment shims either.

    Thanks,

    sean

Is there only one of the thicker spacers (item 30) that goes in between the mounts as a leveler? or should there be one of these at each of the 4 locations?
