Front Plate Mount Question

  1. I got a citation for not having a front plate recently. I took it off right after I got my car and covered up the holes with bumper plugs. I threw the mount out. The cop told me the judge probably would like to see a recipet... What should I do now? The plate mount runs $80 from the dealer... and I do not plan on using it. Has anyone here gotten a front plate citation?

I have never driven any of my cars with front plates and have never had a problem. Got warned twice when pulled over for other reasons. The last time I was pulled over in my Diablo because "the tint was too dark." As the officer was letting me go he mentioned that I did not have a front plate and asked if Lambo made a front backet for the car. I said not to my knowledge. He agreed that if he had the car he would not put a plate on it, but wanted to help me stay out of trouble. I thanked him for his concern by making a spirited exit and passing his partner parked up the road a bit in second gear at 6000 rpm. Got a big thumbs up and smiles.

I've had plenty of tickets for no front plate. It's the cost of looking good. :)

I have heard of some people gluing a strong magnet to the inside of their bumper cover then putting the plate on when the park. They pull it off when they leave. All of my tickets were from meter maids.

If it's the law, then either have a front plate, or pay the fines as they pile up. I don't like adding a front plate to cars either, so I don't. It helps when don't have to by law.

I picked up a few as well here in The Peoples Republik of Kalifeloney. I'd rather pay the $10 fix it, than the $360 from a crooked Revenue Machine.

After I get it signed off, I remove the plate again.

It's corruption my friend, you have a plate on, they get ya, you don't have a plate on, they get ya... all they want is your money and that is not what US government is supposed to entail.

Double stided sticky tape the plate on, get it signed off by the local cop station, remove it, pay the fine.
