Does anyone have a suggestion for mounting a front license plate? I am registered in NY and they require one. Pics would be awesome. Thx

Here in Hawaii law requires front plate as well. I really didn't want to drill holes so I've been driving with plate on the front dashboard. Police hear hasn't given me trouble so I'm assuming it's ok as long as the plate is visible.

Here in Australia a front missing plate brings an on-the-spot fine and 3 (yes, 3) demerit points.

My car was delivered with the horsey as usual but also with a plate mounting bracket loose in the trunk. The dealer removed the horse (now in the glove box) and fitted the bracket with the supplied screws and I used doublesided tape to affix the plate.

Here's a thread from a while back showing some other mounting methods.

Which state is that plate from? Is it custom ordered in that style or issued by the government down there as a special plate with just 3 characters?
Nice all black racing seats with just the red cavallino you have there! and the red caliper and the painted sport wheels...

South Australia. The plate is custom, but government issue. We can choose from several colors with 1-7 characters and different sizes - for a fee of course. :)

    Seats have red stitch.

The best idea I've seen, is to actually paint the front plate on. No drilling required. A few guys in Chicago have done it- although I can't find pics ATM.

Why paint the plate on the bumper, there are sticker plates ;)

I wonder why Ferrari did not take into consideration that there are countries (And those are the majority) out there that require a front license plate while designing the front bumper!? They finally design a car that has perfect Daily Driving Manners and forget the spot for a front plate :D Anyways, I hope that in 2013 when the 458 "Scuderia or CS" comes out, there would be a foreseen place for that, just like on the 360 and 430 before :)

I don't know about the fines in NY but here in Austria front plates are required - 99% of the Ferrari drivers here still don't install one...it's just a money fine. Do you get points or anything in NY? If yes the best possibility I've seen so far are sticker plates on the left side of the trunk.

There are no points in NY, but there are fines. I keep my front plates for my two Dinos under the passenger seat. There is no practical permanent way to attach it such that it is legible by someone travelling toward you on the road. It's also way too big for the size of the front end. It would be nice if the 458 had some provision for front-plate attachment, although I don't like something obvious that makes the front end look as though it's missing something if no plate is affixed to it. It's a dilemma, to be solved one owner and car at a time. Fred

I will just risk the ticket. The way I drive, no one is going to see the front of the car anyway.
