I posted these in the MAR forum but I thought some of the 355 folks might find it a help. I live in the DC metropolitan area and found I was getting stopped a lot for no front plate. Glenn Marquis at Ferrari Of Washingtin fabricated this bracket which manages to not obscure the grill, not be bolted to any exterior body part, not increase ground clearance issues and to remain in place at higher speeds. It actually looks pretty good, too

I would rather pay the ticket(s) than put a plate on the front of my 355. It really disrupts the lines.
I lived in Missouri for a while where it is mandatory and never put one on but the ticket was only $15. (then)
It is ridiculous that some States even require them anymore and the only probable reason is just so the cops have another metal place to aim the laser for speeding.

Do I detect a slight bit of grinding on the leading edge of the painted lower valance, to accomodate the plate and frame attachement bolts and nuts? If yes, could not the mounting arms be lenghtened by that amount to eliminate the need to grind?

Basically, t looks like a really good approach to solving a growing problem.

    Happy New Year,

    Hank

Doesn't look too bad, but it's unfortunate that we have to deal with this at all.

If we had European-sized plates, there wouldn't be much of an issue.

True, but the inmates would have to use some new tools that would ultimately be used to dig fresh tunnels :)

In 4 summers I have only been stopped once and let go. I would sooner walk around naked in time square than put a plate on the front of my car. im sure that fine would be bigger ;)

I agree that I'd rather not have it but I live in a city and don't have much of a choice. If I lived out in the country or the burbs I probably would not bother. The plate does not touch any part of the body and just in case there is a small rubber pad behind the plate and that is not scuffed or show any signs of contact
