Had to get two front rotors because of course the person who owned this before never bothered to change... anything?

So I got two new ones, but the new rotor doesn't have the center part that the old rotor has.

I assume I can press this out? But I have no idea... wondering if I got the wrong part?

    Thanks for any help.

I've never seen anything like that. Mine has 355 rotors and calipers, so I don't know what stock should be, but to me it looks like those older ones have the bearing races or part of the hub stuck on them? What does your hub look like right now. Because I swear that looks like the entire hub came out with your rotor.

What’s concerning is that you would have had to remove the castle nut to have the hub follow the rotor off. Hopefully that was intentional.

If the rotor wouldn’t come off without the hub, I’d be worried the bearings are fried.

hub and rotor can be separated, maybe soak in PB blaster overnight then lay a scrap piece of wood across the hub, then hit with BAH (big ass hammer) to separate hub from rotor. when reassembling I would put a thin coat of antiseize between the hub and new rotor. I wouldn't reassemble without new wheel bearings and seals - you're here, they're cheap, why not.

Agree about previous owners, many of these cars were quite affordable for a time (early/mid 2000s) and were picked up by people who could barely afford the car but not to keep them running properly. The PO for my car apparently only bought stereo equipment, filters, and belt changes, never other maintenance. People being people...

    Thanks guys.

I managed to get it out with my press but that thing, I honestly don't think would have come out any other way.... without a lot of swearing at least :)

I pulled it, cleaned it, and re-plated it.

Does the hub typically remain loose from the caliper, or does it need to be pressed in.

I don’t see how it can come off in the first place without removing the castle nut. I agree the bearings should be replaced since you are in there.

It's not an intentional press fit, but they often get "rusted" together -- as you've found ;).

Gonna put some anti-seize in there for the next guy. I'm guessing I'll be dead before I have to do this again :)
