When I stopped for gas today and was inspecting my wheels and tires I noticed a couple of places on the front tires where it appears they came into contact with the wheel well.

I have the factory size Pirelli P-Zero's with factory modular wheels so no wrong size issues.

I have a friend here with a Modena the same year with the standard 5-star wheels who has had a much worse scraping problem who had Continental tires. We checked and his are the correct size as well.

    Anyone else experienced this?

I have the P-zeros and modular wheels for my 360 spider. No rubbing issues. There should be a lot of clearance with the stock set up (from what I can see on mine)

It's a known issue... Getting your fenders rolled will cure the problem.

+1. I run RE-11 tires in stock sizes and on stock "starfish" wheels. No problem until a recent track day, when one tire caught the inner lip and pulled the underside of the lip out a bit. Since then I've had the fenders rolled (fronts only) and don't expect this problem to recur.

Got it. How expensive is it to get the fenders (front) rolled, and do I need to have a body shop do it?

    Thanks

Depends on local rates for labor but figure around $500. Have a body shop do it who's done it before. They need to be patient and slow, else the paint cracks. It might anyway no matter how careful because the paint has no flex additive for that area of the car. If that happens, it's just a matter of touching it up (though it will involve sanding and feathering). You can't see the touch up because it most likely would be under the fender but I don't want you to be surprised or disappointed.

It is best to warm the paint in the bending area and that softends the paint. Do a web search as to how hot. I used a heat gun and a laser temp reader when I did mine. I think it was 160 degrees F, but it has been a few years ago. I did it myself with a baseball bat, short section of broom stick handle between the tire and fender as I rolled the car back and forth by hand and working the 'stick'.

    Good Luck!!!

Talked to my mech today. He said it is better to shave and not roll to avoid paint damaged. Fyi

When I had my 360, I had a number of these fender-pulls on both sides. I had a body shop roll my fenders. It came our great and the fenders never rubbed again.

Your ride height is wrong. It's a common issue. You really should not have any cause to roll arches! The springs sag with age, and as they do so the wheel catches the apex of the arch when on partial lock. You can raise it by altering the spring platform height according to the wsm and then having a full geometry performed.

I get it that springs sag with age but I don't see how that affects dynamic clearance. The car sits lower when still but the wheels run through the same arc when the suspension is compressed. I only ran into a problem in track driving when the car was at maximum roll, so I think they just didn't engineer in enough clearance. Anyway, it's still a good suggestion to check the height and geometry, but rolling the fenders does take care of the issue, albeit at some risk as noted.

Are you certain its scrubbing? Because 360s when full lock feels like the tires are rubbing when in actual fact they are not. It is because of the geometry setup of the front wheels. This is common.

EDIT: n/m I just read that you have some damage on your tires.

I see plenty of 360's that have never had this issue, at all, not even a hint. They have correct ride height. I also see some that have.....once the ride height is increased the issue stops.....

The spring sagging also means the spring becomes softer. If you brake hard and turn the wheel catches the arch apex. If you turn while going over a bump, the wheel catches. Simple.

Re-compress the spring, increase the spring rate, raise the ride height. Two hours work including the geo.....rolling arches is for people who stuff bigger wheels on....
