I've seen several combos: clear (white), amber/clear, and amber. Where they euro vs. US, different years, what?? I have amber fronts on my 1980 308. Also, some have fogs beneath the bumper. What year/model where those put on? Thanks for the info. etip
I believe all US came with the amber front lens and all Euro has the clear amber combo. The fog light also a standard for the Euro. Not sure if Swiss and/or France uses the yellow fog light but for sure US didn't have fog lights.
North American cars have solid amber turn signals...bi-color is Euro. The grill lamps are actually Passing lamps, IIRC, not continously burning but flashed at the Signal Stalk for passing???? It's not a lighting distribution for fog lamps (wide and low), my point I guess....
A bit off topic here but, Bubba, my 1976 GTB has the capability of flashing high beams to pass. To do so, the knob on the stalk has to be turned to put on the running lights. Then, pulling back on the stalk causes the high beams to come on and the headlight pods to rotate upward. Releasing the stalk shuts off the high beams and the headlight pods retract. This only happens when the running (parking) lights are on. I don't know if my car came that way or if someone modified it. I don't see any mention of modification in the records I have which I believe to be complete. Barry
Interesting! I'll try that in my 1976.... He was asking about the lamps below the bumper though...IIRC those are on Euro cars only... That's a nice muffler shroud you sent me!! LOL!
Be careful pulling back on the light stalk, Bubba. Do it very slowly to test it out. I'm not sure yours works like mine.
"Fog lights" are euro QV only, and are passing lights as had been mentioned. French cars had yellow colored grill lights for sure, not sure if any other countries has this. Most, if not all, non-French euro cars have clear lights.
Amber is correct for your '80. Changed mine to Euro style. A very common thing to do on 308s and easy to change back if you like. Image Unavailable, Please Login
At one time Fiat Plus in Santa Cruz, CA were selling these three types of lenses. Not sure about the all clear ones but I think that's unobtanium. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So the all clear ones are after market? Euro Quattro's car is so good looking I was thinking of redoing my front end the same. Does anyone sell the grill fogs/passing lights?
Fiat Plus is still selling them, but I wish the prices in your picture were still true. $100 for each side, for the amber and amber/clear. $142 each side for the clear.
I have a set of amber amber & a set of brand new amber/clear ones for about 40.00 each if anyone is interested. I will sell them for what I bought them for.
I want the Amber/Clear ones if you still have them. May change mine (gasp - not all stock like I like) but I really like that look. PM Sent. MB
FYI. Ferrari parts UK(www.ferrariparts.co.uk) used to sell the amber/clear ones for 16pounds(~$26)each, but now they have superceeded them with a new part number that costs $106. Why couldn't they just increase the price without showing what you could have paid last year. The amber/amber ones are $56each, but shipping is $24 for 1 or 2 lenses
