    The on the left came out of my 84 QV with the extended rubber lip sticking out and the one on the left is the new i ordered (no extended lip) Does it matter if you have or don’t have that extra lip? P/N 115968 TIA

    There used to be a second piece that performed the same job. It was rubber and slipped over the OD of the hub and had that lip to seal against the vertical surface of the spindle to keep debris and possibly water as well away from the seal. I think its better to have it but most cars do not.
