So I think the frunk release actuator has suddenly stopped working, the lights flash when using the keyfob but won't pop with that or the button in the cabin.
Tried resetting the keyfob that has worked before and checked the fuse hoping for a simple fix but so far nothing. Been using the pull string under the dash for now.

Did a quick search and appears you can only buy the entire assembly as an official part and no mention of just buying the actuator. There may also be a relay in the circuit that I need to also check, but has anyone had this issue or have a part number for the actuator?

Try to reset the electronics. Hold the door lock and unlock buttons down for 15 seconds then release. Next hold both buttons down for another five seconds and release (do the 5 second hold twice). This procedure worked on my 458. Good luck.

Tried that and the lock/unlock several times and no luck, going to pull the tub out and take a look at the mechanism this weekend.

I would assume the actuator has a coil in it, check the coil continuity to see if it has failed.

Before I did that, I would disconnect the negative battery terminal, and allow all of the electronics to power down. Wait a few minutes then reconnect the negative battery terminal and try the frunk release again.

It's close, the body and mounting holes appear to be the same but the electrical connector comes off the side instead of the top and looks to be a different type. Could probably make it work, would have to check the connector clearance.
I pulled it apart to see if I could just replace the motor but it seemed to be somewhat molded in place and couldn't get it out without bending the connectors and shaft.

The weird thing is that part number seems to apply to lots of different ones, I was looking at one from a BMW motorcycle pannier lock which had the same connector location and type but the body was slightly different, was just going to modify the bracket but they were all out of stock.

Seems crazy that you can't just buy the one piece that is most likely to fail without buying the entire mechanism.

If this thing is just a plunger that extends and retracts then it will probably be just a coil. What makes you think it is a motor.
Set a multimeter on Ohms scale and see if you get a circuit across the 2 contacts, if the coil is ok you should get an Ohms reading. If nothing then it is burnt out- you can buy or get these coils rewound.
Also does the plunger move freely by hand

Thats that then, the older ones are coils. Look up motor rewinds in your area. If you take the motor out, will it turn.
If it has any gaps where you can see inside, try some electrical cleaner in case it has brushes, if dirty it can stop it working
