Unfortunately I think 90% of challenge cars are now dusty, unused, and sitting in “barns”. :(

i'd love to have a 355 Challenge. I really wanted a local one - black with yellow stripes an was stored at the local dealer till the dealer's son bought it, but at least he races it :)

Still, I'd love to have a 355 challenge, and a dealer tag to even enjoy it on the street a little occasionally.. I'm not good enough on the track to be competitive, but it would be an awesome training aid

The price seems to be in flux.. he has said 120k, then said lower 100's... He's a big fan of people who don't want to come out 20 times and taking a ton of his time up.. I guess we can all feel that way, but he has such wonderful toys.. hard to not want to come up with excuses to want to just come look again :)

    PM's sent with contact info
I'll post a list of the other cars he's letting go soon

I know people that were buying 360 Challenge cars 8 years ago for $90k. I guess they have appreciated. :D Pete, aren't 430 Challenge cars about $120k now?

    @Rob, I'm just reporting :)

I know the seller is motivated.. 120k seemed high to me too, I'd suggest considering it a starting point - but yesterday someone offered me a 355 Challenge for 70k - which also seemed at least 20k too high so maybe everyone starts out asking 25% more than these things are worth.. personally I hate negotiating. Tell me what it will take to own something and if I can afford it I'll hand over money..

The XJ220 is deep blue, I think it's the one that Jay Leno owned like 5 years ago

The current market for challenge cars is the following:

    355: 45-55k
    360: 70-85k
    430: 120-140k

Demand for 430 challenge is by far the most of all challenge cars....the range in price is due to year, km's, clutch wear etc. The prices above are retail, and based on a stock car (no exhaust, aero etc), assuming spare wheels as well.

If you are looking for a 355c, we have (3) that we can sell for less then 55k each....70k is way too much. There is no appreciation on any challenge car, although that would be nice!

Rob how do you like the 355 Challenge? Ever compared it to a 348 or 360 Challenge?

The 355 Challenge seems to be a good mix of everything for me. Significantly faster and some less headaches than the 348 Challenge (rare to see any these days) and the 360 Challenge which really needs a SD, more expensive parts, and hard for your local bodyshop to beat out dings.

that might not have been fair for me to say. just seems more 348 C's don't run (not a single one ran the CCR series in 2 years!). on the other hand 355 C's seem to all be in nice running shape and actively still run. I have had my 355 C now for 9 years, so 9 years ago the 348 C was 5-7 years younger than my 355 C is now.

At first glance, this car is a 2000 Challenge. It has only 1 side impact bar. The passenger seat was added later - as no 2000 cars came with an extra seat. IIRC there were 3 blue 360s that year. One was metallic and part of FNA's display during the races. The other two raced in the series. There are floor mats in the car, so I assume this car was driven on the street? It also does not have later year modications to it - such as removal of the lexan windows. Looks pretty basic to me. From just a couple shots, it would be impossible to tell if there was crash damage.

    Ira,

Good to see the blue tape back on track. . . . . .I would think the F355 is more of a single purpose car versus 348CH is more of a drive to the track, club event car, dual purpose car. Maybe that is why the few 348CHs that are left are not in the hands of serious racers. I know Ira, you drive to the track and back, right?

I am witness for Ira. He does drive his 348 to and from the track every single time! He is a brave man.

Someone should buy your yellow 348CH and do the same!
Seriously though, since I live 1,000 miles from where I keep the car, I don't want to also store a trailer and tow car.

    Or a foolish one!
At the very least, one who's still willing to arrive at his destination hot, sweaty, and deaf!
