    2007 599.

Fuel cap not opening with the cabin button when engine is off and car is in on position or when engine is on.

I checked the 10amp fuse and looks fine.

Any common causes of failure with this?

Really common for them to get corrosion from washing and lack of use in long storage. There is an emergency release in the trunk, it will be a red string.
Once open it may stick open until you get WD40 or equivalent to clean it up.

It sounds like you are saying in the on position. The answer is that it does not open in the on position. Turn key off and it will open.

Haha, so my f430 requires the car to be on for the cap to open. For the 599 the car has to be off. Nice! Forgetting easy things is what happens after 5 months of storage apparently

I know old thread, but having same issue with gas cap. I will have to try with key in ignition in the off position.

Just too many different makes and models and functions...I have been pulling the red string in the trunk for a while...although it doesn't get fill ups that often

Try this, with the key fob lock and unlock the car 3 times. Don't rush it, take 2-3 seconds between functions.

BTW, this can sometimes also solve the trunk failing to open. It's worked on both my 612 and FF.
