My 03 575M has the P0442 code CEL (SMALL EVAPORATIVE LEAK). A smoke machine shows the Evaporative On-Off (Ferrari p/n 179138) valve leaking smoke with the valve both energized and de-energized. I don’t see a reasonably priced interchangeable part for this, has anyone been able to service one? I can hear the solenoid engage and release and it does slow the smoke leak some so it must be a worn out seal. Looks like the 360 uses the same valve as a thread there says the valve should not flow air when energized.

Does your on-off valve have a Pierburg number on it. On the internet, there are a few similar-looking valves (with two outlets and a capsule on it), but whether they function the same, I don't know.

Here's the 360 valve from the workshop.

I believe that number refers to the type of plastic. A part number may be on another side.

Here's a similar-looking valve with a capsule. Not sure about the mounts.

Then there are "reversing valves", whatever that means.

We really need a Pierburg part number.

I'll have to look at the valve again when I get a chance but it does not look like that one. Here is a diagram I found in the 360/430 section, its part number 15, which if the author is correct, then mine is definitely bad. I don't mind throwing the $300 plus if its the culprit.

360/575 use the same valve. I have replaced a number of them for leakage.

I have been installing used valves. Have not yet had to find alyernative.

I saw used ones available for about 1/3rd the price of new but was leery.
So before I ordered one I figured I'd do a MacGyver and take it apart. Looks like the first part (1) is missing an o-ring where it fits into part (2). I found an o-ring that fit snug and voila when energized it now holds a vacuum. I don't see any other way this solenoid valve can work, but where did the original o-ring go is my question. Now if the guy on the 360 thread is correct and its suppose to seal when energized I'm good. If however there is suppose to be a small bleed and it sucks my gas tank into a tiny little block of aluminum I'm screwed. Comments please.

This is a 2 owner car with records from day 1. I looked back through the last few years and found this valve had been replaced in 2016 and 2022. Makes me think Ferrari sells valves with disappearing o-rings or maybe ethanol fuel devours them, or ?????

Sorry, didn't realise there were two on-off valves on the 360. I just word-searched the WSM and that's the first I found.

If tank builds pressure its easy to find out by opening filler after driving some miles. For example some BMW's has tendency to do it and they suck plastic tank nicely into itself. Alu tank is stronger but it can happen.

Tanks can have pressure and 2 lbs on an empty tank seems like a lot when you take the cap off.
Without proper venting alloy tanks crush like a beer can.
