Does it matter where each injection line is connected to the distributor? I have spent the weekend changing all of the plastic fuel lines with the kit from Unobtanium. When I was at the rear cylinders of the right bank I got a bit tangled and I may have #5 and #6 reversed. They only fit comfortably the way I have them now but it seems they are reversed from where I started.

If it is not a problem, I will leave them like they are. If it is a problem, will someone please give me the order of the injectors starting with #1 cylinder and going clockwise around the Bosch distributor.

No, it doesn't matter functionally on a K/KE-Jet system, but I hope someone with a 400i will answer so you can keep it as it should be.

    Ken,
    the order is 1,2,3,4,5,6
And as mentioned before, it doesn't matter what order they're in...they're constantly spraying as long as the sensor plate is lifted by moving air.

I got it right! Mine are 1-2-3-4-5-6 too. One the left bank they are not in the same 12 to 7 order a pair of the back three are switched but I made a diagram before I did the left bank. The main issue then is getting a "nice" layout of the tubing. All of the nylon holders broke from age in the process so I will get them replaced and things will look a lot neater. Anyone know if there is a cheap source of those nylon holders? I'll be calling my dealer tomorrow.

    Ken,
The left dist. is config'd. in the same order (7, 8,9,10,11,12) starting @ the same port as the right bank (7:30 o'clock position on left bank). Did you get the copper crush washers @ NAPA? What sizes are they?
My nylon clips are also getting brittle but figured these pieces wouldn't be around. Please keep us posted.

I got the copper washers at Imperial Supplies. They are a great resource with fast shipping and most everything in stock. There are two size washers: 8mmx10mmx1mm and 10mmx12mmx1mm. There are also larger ones on the main fuel inlet which I reused. I have not done my leak check yet that will happen on Sat. when I have a partner to scramble around and turn the key!

My left bank was clearly not 7 to 12 in order. I made a chart before touching them. Only two were reversed, I think 7 and 8, but then again the layout of the last three is not neat so a DPO may have messed them up before I got there.

Once I get the nylon clips (Algar only had 5 of 8) I can make it a bit neater.

    Ken,

I caution you on reusing crush washers on fuel lines, WSM recommends replacing any that are cracked open.
Wow, those clips are still avail.,....amazing.

I replace all of the washers except the two large ones that I did not know of in advance and I will do them shortly.

Clips: Algar had only 5 but I just ordered the remaining 3 from Ricambi. Yes, they are out there. I tried to find on a generic Bosch K-jetronic site and I got lost in details and had no Bosch part #.

Thanks Ken, I sent an order to Daniel today to get added to yours but I missed it, they already sent yours out to him shortly before noon.
Let us know what the larger crush washer size is when you get around to changing them out.

    Thanks,
    Bruce
