Since I bought the car with out service records, I am making a list on what need be done for my first service. I see from Car Fax a service was done a few years ago, and less than 2000 miles back, but I have no idea how complete or what was done.

I am planning on all belts, cooling hoses, brake fluid, change the trans & engine oil, and filter all the fluids look new but I will have a place to start from.

As I collect the parts and pieces for "the 52,000 mile service" on our 85 308 and read the various posts here, I am adding the fuel lines as a must. The question is which fuel lines need be repalced... we are talking about the rubber hoses...right?

To be safe, I did all the fuel and fuel vapor lines, and the coolant hoses while I was at it. Better safe than sorry.

Yup, I've been doing the same thing. No service records, so I've been re-doing absolutely everything. Last month I had all the fuel lines replaced, all the coolant hoses replaced, new engine gaskets installed to kill the oil leaks, AC parts replaced, the works.

Those damn narrow Italian seats are next. Does anyone need a pair of re-leathered Mondial front seats? Perfect condition, except they don't fit my frame.

It is amazing how those seats have become so narrow as we get older.

Are they different than 308 seats and what color/condition?

The engine compartment ones are usually done at Service...

Three others that sometimes are not are the fuel filler neck (big diameter) and also keep an eye on the large "coupling" ones under the car on the tube connecting the two tanks...

Failure of these, will put a LOT of fuel on the ground quickly!

Story of a shop that once came in to find a 308 sitting in a puddle of many gallons of fuel where the under car ones had failed....

Lol. I had the fuel filler neck and tank connector one done during my last major. FWIW, my car's an '87 and the rubber fuel lines all looked pretty good except for one that had hardened somewhat.

Of course you don't need more than one to rupture to be on the evening news...

Yep, that poor guy in the NW, that just got his 'project' running...

My Mom was so impressed she got his name and suggested I sell him my "spare" one. She is always making helpful suggestions like that......

    It WAS yellow.....

Being out of the engine heat, they can last a long time......

Yes, they are different than the 308 seats. Mine are tan, and have brand new leather on them and are in perfect condition. I've kept them under a seat cover so thay aren't even dirty.

Here's the difference between the seats: mondial, then 308

What seats would you plan to go with as replacement?
Although expensive, I always thought a similar year Testarossa seat would match color and look pretty good style-wise.

I'm not sure what seats to use yet, I'm still looking around and thinking about it. I'm not even too sure where to look. Anyone have any ideas where a slightly used set of tan leather Ferrari seats might be found? Please PM me if you have a set.

I would be interested in what you decide to do with the seats as well. I test drove a Mondial yesterday that I am considering purchasing, and the seat is definately too narrow. Keep us posted.

Right now I have two solutions in mind for the seats. One is to stuff some memory foam into the seat under the leather to lessen the depth of the bottom part of the seat, the other is to replace them entirely. In another thread, someone mentioned that Jegs has a seat similar to the 360 seats in tan. It's imitation leather, but they're only $180 a piece. I also found a pair of 355 seats used, but $1500 a piece was more than I want to spend.
